Speakers and Audience
Political and industrial representatives from Norway and Germany

Building on a long history of cooperation, German-Norwegian defence cooperation has seen an increase in recent years. The importance was further emphasized in September 2023, when the Defence Ministers Gram (Norway) and Pistorius (Germany) signed a Declaration of Intent with the goal of further strengthening and deepening the bilateral security and defence cooperation.

Additionally, the Norwegian Government recently released the Long-Term Plan (LTP) on Defence. This represents a marked change, one might call it a “Zeitenwende”, in Norwegian defence expenditure, nearly doubling the defence budget over the next 12 years.

On Tuesday, June 11th 2024 the German-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce is hosting the German-Norwegian Defence Industry Seminar. At the seminar, you will have the opportunity to meet political and industrial representatives from both countries and explore possibilities for present and future bilateral projects. In addition to the possibilities of current and future German-Norwegian cooperation, the seminar will also address the possibilities of how and in which areas SMEs can contribute to strengthening German-Norwegian cooperation in the defence industry.

Following the seminar, there will be the possibility of further networking.
