EU-wide regulatory requirements for cybersecurity

Drawing on the competencies of our AHK network, we are delighted to welcome our members to AHK Hungary’s Focus Series in cooperation with the Cyber Intelligence Institute (CII), to a webinar about EU-wide regulatory requirements for cybersecurity

At the interface between business and science, NGOs and start-ups, the CII develops new solutions for a secure digital future.

The core ideas are cooperation, dialogue and the interdisciplinary and global exchange of information and knowledge in order to make the country, the economy and society more resilient. This calls for holistic concepts that understand cyber security not only as an abstract technical and organizational responsibility, but as a task for society to protect common European values. The CII is thus actively advocating for greater digital security in an age of new digital challenges.

The second part of the online series focuses on new challenges for cybersecurity and the EU-wide cybersecurity regulations.

Value creation in the European Union is heavily dependent on trade – especially trade in digital products. In a world where almost everything is digitised and interconnected, new market opportunities are emerging for digital products, but at the same time new challenges for cybersecurity. As a result, the EU has passed the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). This is a new regulatory framework that sets out cybersecurity requirements for all products with digital elements that are traded in the European single market. On the flip side, digital products that do not comply with these requirements can no longer be sold in the EU.

The event will answer questions about what the changes in the CRA mean for technology manufacturers, importers and distributors, when the regulations are to be implemented and how to best prepare for them by Prof. Dr. Dennis-Kenji Kipker, Scientific Director of the Cyber Intelligence Institute, in the event on the effects of the threat situation in cyberspace and its consequences for every company.

Further topics in the focus series:
  • Focus on hybrid threats  - Hybrid threats, sabotage, espionage, emergency planning
  • Focus on crisis communication  - "Cyberattack paralyses company" – what now? Communicating effectively in a cyber crisis!
  • Focus on digital sovereignty & hyperscalers – Technological independence – pipe dream or competitive advantage?

Prof. Dr. Dennis-Kenji Kipker is one of the leading minds in cyber security and works as Scientific Director of the cyberintelligence.institute in Frankfurt am Main, Member of the Board of Directors of the strategy consulting company CERTAVO AG, Visiting Professor at the private Riga Graduate School of Law in Latvia, which was founded by the Soros Foundation and is a FORBES Technology Council. He conducts research on topics at the interface of law and technology in cyber security, corporate strategy and digital resilience in the context of global crises, with a particular focus on Chinese and US IT law.
