The German-Norwegian Energy Dialogue

...brings together industry, politics, and civil society to explore solutions to emerging challenges, unlock new areas of cooperation, and strengthen the long-term partnership that remains essential for Europe’s energy transition.

Why this matters

Across Europe, the energy market is settling into a new normal marked by high capital costs, supply chain constraints, and affordability challenges, particularly in hydrogen and offshore wind. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is gaining momentum following regulatory progress in Germany, while the 2026 North Sea Summit in Hamburg highlights stronger regional cooperation.

European decarbonization ambitions remain high, yet policymakers increasingly face the dual imperative of reducing emissions without accelerating deindustrialization. Debates around the EU frameworks, EU ETS, carbon markets, and financing mechanisms will shape Norway and Germany’s ability to ensure a secure and climate‑aligned industrial future. Growing concerns about the security of supply and infrastructure protection also create new opportunities for German-Norwegian collaboration.

We are looking forward to discussing these matters together. Welcome to the German-Norwegian Energy Dialogue!
