On 5 September 2026, Isar Aerospace successfully launched its Spectrum II rocket from Andøya Space, marking the historic first satellite launch to orbit from the European mainland. The launch marks another milestone in the German-Norwegian collaboration to develop space capabilities and ensure Europe's strategic autonomy in space.
Satellite navigation, Earth observation, telecommunications, and space-based sensing are essential for modern maritime operations, safety, and security. Space-based technologies are key to countering hybrid threats. Satellite communications, positioning, and observation provide data to protect infrastructure, secure shipping, and support maritime operations. Access to and use of space-derived data is now a strategic necessity for Europe.
This Keynote & Coffee explores how German-Norwegian cooperation can translate emerging space capabilities into practical solutions to ensure maritime resilience. Together, we will explore how the two economies can accelerate the development and deployment of technologies that strengthen maritime resilience, improve infrastructure protection, and enhance security across the maritime domain.
Program:
Keynote & Coffee
Knowledge transfer and exchange on complex topics is one of the core tasks of our bilateral network. Therefore, we offer Keynote & Coffee. A short impulse statement followed by the option to discuss and exchange. We open our chamber of commerce in the morning to discuss a relevant topic over a cup of coffee or tea.
