What insights can German and Norwegian perspectives offer to this discussion? Join us for a seminar that connects these two dynamic art scenes, encouraging a collaborative exchange of ideas!
Norwegian art institutions are pursuing international collaborations and networking across national boundaries. Alongside this, the German art scene is renowned for its pioneering and innovative approaches in exploring and challenging the art field. The Norwegian art market anticipates further growth, with museums expecting an increase in visitor numbers. With other words: the stage is set for a dynamic and creative interaction between German and Norwegian players in the art industry.
At the seminar, you will have the opportunity to meet 10 representatives from Germany, encompassing galleries, art dealers, artists, and other contributors. They will showcase their projects, activities, and aspirations for collaboration.
This seminar is an excellent opportunity for networking, the exchange of ideas and establishing new connections between Norwegian and German artists, galleries, art dealers and other stakeholders!

The seminar is part of a project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action under the Foreign Market Entry Program. This program specifically supports small and medium-sized enterprises, freelancers in commercial sectors, and service providers close to the economy in their international business endeavors. The program is open to all economic sectors - from mechanical engineering to crafts, and from security technologies to the creative industries, and facilitates trade cooperation between foreign countries and Germany.

Susanne Albrecht opened her gallery in Munich in 1986, and in 2009 she moved it to Berlin, where she now lives and works. The gallery’s focus is on the classic media of painting, photography, drawing and sculpture. In her work as a gallerist, Susanne Albrecht’s motto is, „Art always stays young“. Works of art from past epochs can today be as vibrant as more contemporary ones. With changing times, the forms may change, but not the content.

Since 2010, the painter Michael Frahm has been living with his family in Basthorst, where he runs the Art House, a gallery with a painting school, and the Art Pension. On 500 square meters, he exhibits expressionist art and also involves companies in artistic activities. Frahm enjoys the nature and tranquility in Basthorst and uses it for inspiration – however, for art projects, he repeatedly leaves his comfort zone. In 2017, he moved into a one-room apartment in a large apartment block for several months to create artworks about moments of happiness with the residents, documented in the ARD show "The Happiness Painter." In 2019, he cycled 900 kilometers along the Baltic Sea coast, funding himself through his art and documenting the journey and the happy moments of his encounters in a "BOOK OF HAPPINESS".

Established in 1986, Galerie Leu is a second generation gallery specialized in post-war and contemporary art. For over thirty years, the Leu family has been bringing together leading international collections and accompanying collectors around the world to help them pursue their passion. The gallery was originally founded in Hamburg, by the Swedish art dealer Kerstin Leu and presented predominantly contemporary Scandinavian artists. In 1997 the gallery moved to Munich, where it expanded and developed its main areas of focus, and today, it represents such important movements as Group ZERO, Group Azimuth, Concrete Art, Pop Art, Minimalism, New European Painting and Scandinavian Art. The gallery is active in both the primary and secondary markets.

Margarete Adler is a German sculptor who lives and works in Berlin.
Her life size portrait sculptures, created in the style of the Old Masters, combine the traditional with the modern - baroque beauty with contemporary realism and elements of Pop Art.
In the portrait series, Margarete Adler questions social regulations, role models and traditions and confronts the viewer with their own emotions and thoughts.

Jarmuschek + Partner has been representing contemporary artists since 2004 and shows their work at the gallery space in Berlin, at external exhibition projects and at international art fairs. Many of the works presented move in a tension field between figurative-representational and abstraction, the focus is also on painting and the medium of paper. In addition to the long-standing collaboration with the artists of the gallery, also young positions are discovered and promoted.

Barbara Ruetz represents artists whose works are contemporary and expressive. The paintings are partly abstract, partly close to narrative realism

Galerie Hoffmann was established in 1967 in Frankfurt to promote Constructivist and Concrete art from the Bauhaus to the present. The gallery has continued to realise exhibitions and editions, in close cooperation with artists across Europe, Japan, and the Americas. In 1974, the gallery relocated to its Friedberg locations, where it currently operates from its two spaces. Historically, Galerie Hoffmann played an integral role in the aforementioned movements, as it also functioned as a meeting point for artists. The gallery’s programme has included retrospectives from artists with decades of shared history such as Herman de Vries, Richard Paul Lohse and Leon Polk Smith; however, it continues to show a commitment to the exhibition of contemporary artists who work in a similar tradition.
